The chrome-free cowhide leather is smooth and light. It comes from farms in the south of Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul) and undergoes an innovative tanning process that does not use chrome, heavy metals or hazardous acids. By simplifying the tanning process, the use of chemicals and energy is reduced, water consumption is cut by around 40% and the use of salt by 80%. After tanning, the water can be recycled.
